Shelton's Products Review
Since 1924, Shelton 's
has been producing quality products. And they were gracious enough to send me
several to try and blog about. The folks from Pomona
Valley , South California
sent me some Jerky as well as some canned goods from the farm. So let's get to
tasting.
The turkey that is used in their products are all raised in
open range pens for 26 weeks. They are antibiotic and artificial growth stimulant
free. So you know what you are eating is all natural and safe. This is how they
have done it since they began their business.
The first product the entire family tried was the chili.
Cooked both ways, as a chili and as a hot dog topping, it was very tasty. We
used the spicy Turkey Chili on, guess what? Some turkey dogs. As a topping it
tasted fantastic. It was full of beans and veggies, and you could taste the
spices in each bite you took. What's nice about this product is that it is
already fully cooked so its just heat and eat. Great for on the run meals.
The mild turkey chili we ate in our soup bowls with a dab of
sour cream on top. This two was full of beans and veggies, it makes for a great
comfort meal on a cold day.
For another taste test was the Organic Chicken broth. It comes
in fat free and low sodium, and salt and spices, versions. But the taste is
like Grandma used to make in her Chicken soup recipes. What I cooked that my
little one loves, is this. Some pasta with 1/2 cup of broth and a teaspoon of butter.
This is how I get her to eat her pasta, and have ever since she was a little girl. I
made three small bowls and gave it two her and she was my taster for the
broths. I must say she enjoyed all three varieties. And if a kid loves it you
know its good.
Last up was the turkey jerky. Ever since I opened the box, I
had every one in the house arguing who was tasting it first. Needless to say,
there is none left. The jerky was thinly sliced, which I like, and was very
tasty with a great texture. This is another greatly made product, made with
their turkey meat.
The final product was the canned chicken meat. How I used
this was just like tuna. Added some mayo, chopped onion, and seasoning, and placed it onto some toasted Texas
toast. That with some more chili and I had a complete meal for dinner. The
chicken was chunky and was just delicious. It made a great sandwich, but I can
say I would also use it in a salad.
If you would like more information on their great tasting
products, check out their website at www.sheltons.com. There are plenty more
items where these came from.

Vermont smoke and cure review
Today I received a bundle of beef and pork sticks from Vermont smoke and cure. The company crafts some of the best tasting products. And they
have been around for over fifty years, so you know they are doing something
right. What else is great they get their meats from farmers, and make all their
products right in their home town.
Now lets get started. Who doesn't love a good beef and pork stick, I know I do. So first up was the BBQ, called a Real stick. It was crisp
to the bite, and deep in BBQ flavors. It had a kick to it with a sweet taste as
well. It was a great hit with my husband. These would make a great on the go
snack for work or play. You may even want to have some for between meal
snacking to fill you up before your next meal. After all they are natural and
were filling.
Then I tasted the cracked pepper one, after all I eat more
pepper on my food than salt. The taste was just amazing. You get the crisp
chewy stick with a punch of black pepper. It wasn't overwhelming at all. And if
my ten year old loved it you know it wasn't. All real sticks are made with beef that is grown without antibiotics and never fed animal byproducts. Its safe and natural just the way we all should eat.
My husband wanted chipotle real stick, he loves chipotle
flavored anything. He said the flavors were just right. The taste he described
was of southwestern flavors like cumin, pepper and a spicy kick. He really
enjoyed helping me with this review. Another great fact about their products is, no nitrites or nitrates added except for those found naturally occurring in celery juice and sea salt.
The products don't stop here, the company makes many more.
With the up coming Holidays, I'm sure you will find some great gift giving
ideas. Stop by their website and check out what they have in the store. Visit
www.vtsmokeandcure.com. You'll be glad you did.

Bonne Maman Product Review
For review today I received two jars of jelly from a company
called Bonne Maman. They use simple fresh ingredients to make time honored
French products. The ingredients are great for anyone because they are o 100
percent all natural.
The first jar was Muscat grape and I tried on some raisin toast.
This jelly is made with Muscat grapes and is 100 percent natural. It went on so
smooth and tasted so great. It was rich in fruit taste and flavor as well. What
is even better it contains no high fructose corn syrup or added coloring. This
tasted like no shelf jelly I have ever tasted.
Next up on some homemade bread, that was warm I tried the
smooth strawberry preserves. Oh how good this was. You tasted the sweet
strawberries in every bite. It was so soft, so spreadable, and just melted in
your mouth.
The website offers so many other products to chose from, and
some great recipe tips as well. These products would make great gifts for the
up coming Holiday season. Head over to www.bonnemaman.us
for so much more information.

Fiber Gourmet Product Review
Today I received two boxes of products to review from FiberGourmet. The company is what you call a food technology company. They make
great tasting, reduced calorie and high fiber products. With their technology
that are able to create great products like pasta, cracker and so many others.
If your watching your waistline or any other reason they products will fit the
bill.
The first to cook was the box of light fettuccine. It has 40
percent fewer calories than other pastas, and 72 percent fiber. Not only did it
look good on my plate it tasted like the standard pasta that is on your store
shelf. With the pasta I made chicken Alfredo. My family could not tell I used a
new pasta. It tasted great, cooked the same and looked great. We all really
enjoyed it. And anytime I can sneak healthy food in without it hitting the
taste bud radar, well my family will never know.
Next for a snack I used the half calorie crackers, Fiber Gourmet
sent. On top I melted some cheddar cheese, and placed a pimento on top of that.
It came out fantastic. In a matter of minutes they were gone. The crackers
have 70 percent fiber this is less than wheat thins.
The company website has a tone of other products and
information as well. These would make great gift ideas and holiday recipe
ideas. Head on over to their website for more information. www.fibergourmet.com

Stephen's Hot Cocoa Review
Today for reviewing I received a container of Roasted Hazelnut Hot cocoa from Stephen's. The company makes mouth watering hot chocolate, and other great tasting drinks. They have over 45 varieties of hot chocolate alone.
It's a family owned and operated business that is in southwestern Michigan. Making great drinks one sip at a time. And I was excited to get started.
Since its rainy and on the cold side, I decided to make everyone a cup of the hot cocoa I had received. It was easy to make, just boil some hot water and add a few teaspoons of the cocoa, top it with whip cream and some cinnamon on top, and you have the perfect tasting hot cocoa. It was creamy and smooth like velvet. Very tasty, in every sip, a taste of rich hazelnut. And the best part its gluten free.
This would make a great cocoa to serve around the Holidays, or when sitting by a roaring fire indoors or out. Any time, any place, it will warm your belly. The products that are on the website along with the cocoa's make great gift giving products.
For more information visit their website at www.hotchocolatebliss.com. There you will find more delicious drinks and tons of other information. Visit and order your hot cocoa today.

Get your little ones eating veggies with the Veggie man. Using veggies and the dip as the face who can resist.
Davinci Gourmet Syrups Review
Today I was sent a box of gourmet syrups from DaVinci. They are used in your coffee for making great flavors. If you are making any mocha's they make them even creamier like velvet. Also you can use them in your baking recipes.
First up was the gourmet sugar free vanilla syrup. This I used in a pound cake I was making. It is sugar free and still delicious. It was also a great hit in the hubby's coffee. The syrup is made with splenda instead of real sugar. This is a great product for those watching their sugar intake, and for those who are watching their waste line.
Also they sent their zero cherry syrup and their gourmet Hazelnut syrup. For the cherry, I had divided the pound cake in half, and to some cream cheese for icing I added a drizzle of the zero cherry syrup into it, and topped the pound cake with chopped cherries, well needless to say there was nothing left.
For the Hazelnut I had to use that in my coffee, this is one of my favorite flavors as far as coffee goes. And it was just the right flavoring, not over powering the coffee at all. Every sip you got the smell and taste of fresh roasted Hazelnuts.
Now for the While Chocolate syrup, I used that in a cookie recipe, added some white chocolate chips and pecans and wow a intense flavor. Paired with some ice cold milk, everyone was enjoying these.
Last up was the zero calorie french vanilla syrup, again this was used in a recipe, for ice cream soda. I took a glass filled with root beer, a scoop of french vanilla ice cream, and a teaspoon of the syrup and got a fantastic ice cream soda. This would be a great idea for a birthday party.
All the syrups would make a great gift for the gourmet cook in your family. You can use them in a variety of ways, not just in your coffee but in your recipes.

Scary Hamburgers
Before adding cheese to your burgers, how about cutting out some spooky faces. Kids will love this idea.
Sweet Freedom Bakery Review
Today I received several products to review from a company called Sweet Freedom Bakery. This is a great choice for those who suffer with food allergies. It's also a great alternative for those watching their waste line. Their bakery products are great and healthy, and loved by adults and children.
First up for tasting was the magic bar. It was very tasty, nice texture, and very moist. It had chocolate chips in it, and you got a hint of chocolate liquor in each bite. For a product made with all natural ingredients, it was fresh on the palette. You don't miss all the sugar as other products are made from.
Also in the box, was a brownie, a pumpkin doughnut, a pumpkin cookie and a chocolate chip cookie. I cut them all into bite size pieces, made a hot cup of coffee and went ahead to finish up my tasting. Each product was equal, and all had great natural taste to it. These would make a great product to serve for any occasion. Paired with your favorite beverage you have a great lite morning breakfast, or a great dessert.
If you are interested in these great tasting gluten free products stop by the bakery, or visit their website that is full of information and more products. www.sweetfreedombakery.com

Intoxicated Chocolates Review
Today I received a box of chocolates from a company who makes homemade chocolates and infuses them with top shelf liquor. The company is called Intoxicated Chocolates. They take the best chocolate and infuse it with beer, wine or your favorite cocktail.
The chocolates I received were infused with Lemon Drop Martini. I can't drink so I called on my oldest daughter to do the tasting. She said they were very good. It was a burst of flavor as she described it. The box is already for gift giving, you would not need to wrap anything up. The chocolate melted in her mouth and then hit with the Lemon Drop Martini mixed drink.
