Kool Aid Hair Streaks

My daughter loves to have colored hair streaks in her hair. I was using the spray can color but it gets all over the place. So I do it now with kool aid. It's easy and fun to do. Adults can also do this for highlighting, instead of going to a professional. Doing it this way you can change the look, and it's under one dollar to do. With the kool aid way there is no long term commitment. It washes out very easily.

To get started take two packets of unsweetened kool aid and add it to 1/8 cup of warm water. Mix it up until it is totally dissolved. Then separate your hair where you want to place the streaks. A friend or family member is always helpful at this point. But you can do it yourself.

Put a piece of aluminum foil under the section of hair you are going to color. Then with a color brush, start applying the kool aid mixture. You want to completely soak the hair with the mixture.

Then wrap the foil around the kool aid soaked hair, and with your hair dryer heat it up.

After twenty minutes when your hair is dry, take a peak. If its the right color then rinse your hair.
