Gardners Peanut Butter Meltaway Candy Review

Easter is coming soon, and if your looking for some candy, I have some to share about with you. Today to review, I received five box's of peanut butter meltaway's from Gardner's Candy

Gardner's candies dates back to 1897, by then 16yr old "Pike" Gardner, from PA. From selling to fairs and carnivals, to you, this these candies have come a long way. They have a stellar reputation, and affordable prices, that they offer their customers.

At Gardner's you can get, candy filled trays, baskets, even collector tins, filled with their wonderful candy. A candy that is their own family recipe, that none have been able to copy.

The company was very generous with their product, I received two one pound peanut butter meltaway box's, two boxes of 8ox peanut butter meltaway's, and a cute pink gift box of their peanut butter meltaways.

So excited to get tasting!

First up, I opened the pink gift box on Gardner's peanut butter meltaway's. Inside there are several, of their original peanut butter meltaway cups, that are each 1.5ozs. Each is in a individual wrapper, with two cups per package. These are a great size to pack in a lunch, carry as a snack, and load into a gift basket. The chocolate coated peanut butter candy, is fantastic. Smooth, and creamy, and does melt in your mouth. These candies would be great crumbled on top of your favorite ice cream. The box that the candy came in, is perfect for a gift. Add some ribbon, and bow on top and you are all set.

Next, was the Gardner's original peanut butter square meltaways. There was a one pound, and 8oz box, that you can wrap, and give as a gift. The square meltaways, had a very satiny milk chocolate coating, with the peanut butter inside. These are truly wonderful morsels that melt in your mouth with every bite. They would be great, taking a few and blending them in with a chocolate milk shake. And, yes on top of your favorite ice cream as a topping.

Any of the products from Gardner's would make a wonderful gift, or treat for your self.

East Jerusalem Goods Company Review

I was very blessed today, to receive several products from a Etsy shop owner Michal. Michal owns a shop called East Jerusalem Goods Company, on Etsy. She hand makes all her products with natural and nutritious ingredients. The Etsy shop she has, gives you a variety of products from Halva, to syrups. The shipment box was packaged beautifully, and would make a great gift basket for someone special.

In the box, I am going to taste several of her products. There is one classic halva, and one pistachio halva, palm date syrup, pomegranate syrup, one jar of classic tahini and last a roasted tahini.

If you are not familiar with these types of products, I will give you a little background. The products are a middle eastern cuisine, and are very popular in many kitchens around the world. Halva is a very old product, and is a popular sweet dessert in the middle east.

The Halva that was the classic natural, I tasted first. It was a dense, sweet tasting Halva, kind of crumbly, and taste similar to a nut butter. I tasted it after slicing it, but it goes great in many recipes. You can add this to fruit, ice cream, smoothies, and other bake goods of your choice. It makes for a very healthy snack.

Next I tasted the pistachio Halva. Also sliced, it has a wonderful flavor, not to sweet, and very natural tasting. If you mix pistachio Halva, with other ingredients it will add even more flavors. You can add it to ground coffee, put on toast, due to is very easy to spread texture. Also you can add to a baguette, even cereal. Another great product, and healthy for you as well. Both Halva's are very high and rich in vitamin B and E, and have other healthy nutritious value.

The next product from East Jerusalem Goods Company was a jar of palm date syrup. This syrup is thick, dark brown, and has a sweet fruit syrup taste, you can tell it comes extracted from dates. This type of syrup is again used in middle Eastern cooking. Again the ingredients in this product are natural, no sugar is added, and has many nutritious values. This is great to add into plain yogurt, add to a dessert, and great to experiment with in your own recipes. The other small jar I received was pomegranate syrup, that also was made with natural ingredients, and is very healthy for you as well. The syrup is made with pure pomegranate juice, and has no other ingredients. This syrup you cook until it thickens, and you cook it very slowly. Some recipe tips I would give you for this is add it to plain hummus, add in ice tea, or any other recipe that calls for a touch of sweet.

The next two products, was a jar of classic tahini, and one roasted tahini. I was very impressed with the classic tahini, I have had others, but must say this one impressed me most. Again this is a product that is dietary nutritious for you. Made again using only the best natural ingredients. This tahini tasted and resembled a natural peanut butter, in its looks and in its taste. Very earthy in flavor, not unpleasant at all. This product is great for a dip, a sauce under meat or fish, as a salad dressing, for top veggies, and even add to a soup or stew. Tahini, is not just for vegans, its very healthy for everyone. Some may need to get used to the taste, but afterwards, it very enjoyable, and a great peanut butter alternative.

Now the only difference in a classic tahini and a roasted tahini, is that the sesame seeds are roasted, and done so for eight hours. Again this is a natural product with natural ingredients. The roasted tahini tasted similar to peanut butter as well, but I think had a more nutty flavor to it. There was no bitterness, and was not unpleasant, very tasty. Again, this can be used in many dish's. You can try it on a ice pop, on fruit, in yogurt, as a dip, even top a burger. The ideas are endless.

So if any of these items interest you, head over to eastjerusalemgoodscompany, on Etsy. If you have any questions, contact Michal. The shop is offers something for everyone.

Frito Lay company review

Today I am testing and tasting three products sent to me from Frito Lay.

Frito Lay, first started with a dream in 1932. C.E Doolin had gone into a San Antonio cafe, and got him self a bag of corn chips. He soon learned that the maker of the chips wanted to sell. And that's when Mr. Doolin bought the recipe and formed the the company Frito's. He was eager to sell his chips and did so from his model T ford. At the same time Herman Lay was starting his potato chip business. In 1961, the two companies merged and Frito Lay was born.

You will find the products in just about every store. And today, I get to try and review about these well known snacks. First up, the classic potato chips. Not only we're the chips tasty, they we're very fresh. They made a great side with my sandwich. Each bite was a crunch of goodness. I also wanted to try the chips with some dip, to see how they would hold up. They handled the dip great, with out breaking when scooping up the dip. The salt on the chips was just right, not overly salty at all. After you taste this great chip, you will understand why its been America's favorite chip for over 75 years.

Next up was the Tostitos with a hint of lime. With the upcoming Holidays, I must say all three snacks would be great on anyone ones table.

When you bite into this snack chip, you get the taste of fresh corn Tostitos with just the right hint of lime. Paired with some salsa I made, it was the perfect chip for the job. The chip held up great, when dipped into the salsa, the chip did not fall apart at all. I also wanted to go a step in another direction for trying the chip, and crushed it and used it as a breading on tonites chicken breast, that I was cooking. My family raved at how good it turned out. I didn't use any additional seasonings, just the crushed chips. And did the three steps, flour, egg, and chips instead of bread crumbs. And the chips held up great during the frying process.

The last snack to try is the Sun chips with salsa. These snacks are a great alternative to potato chips. Made from whole grains, and a hint of salsa, they contain powerful flavors.

You not only get a great tasting chip, you get all the flavors of a garden salsa. Its also a great feature that these chips are soy free. They make a great snack for anyone. The chip has a great crunch, yet it is still light and airy. It was the most flavorful multi grain product I have tasted. Having a salsa flavor, they are not to bold on the taste buds. The sun chip also held up great with a sour cream dip I made. The two combo's made a party in our mouths.

These snacks we're fantastic, and I would serve them any time. They also can be incorporated into many recipes.

If you would like more information, you can visit the company online at www.fritolay.com or find them on face book or twitter.

Their website is filled with not only a ton of information, but a recipe page as well. Try these snacks, and I promise you, you will not be disappointed.

PawsitivelyLit Etsy Shop Product Review

The mail came early today, and in my mailbox was a box from PawsitivelyLit. This is a Etsy shop, owned by Gary, who makes homemade candles and named it after his own dogs. He makes these candles, so you can have some enjoyment brought into your home. And the best part, when you buy his products, he donates a portion to local no kill animal shelters. Gary, started, this candle business so his customers could have a little joy brought into their life, the way his rescue dogs have brought him.

What's even sweeter then the scents, is the labels on the candles are Gary's own rescue dogs, that he has saved. This is why it is so important to Gary, that he gives back to the local shelters. This is a great cause, and great thing Gary does for the community.

Gary, hand pours his candles, with 100 percent soy wax, and then adds the joy to them, that's going to fulfill your home, with wonderful scents. PawsitivelyLit candles can be made to occupy your specific scents, all you need to do is send a request. The candles are made free of any type of dyes, or phthalates. The wicks that Gary use, are all natural cotton and paper wicks. The scents are of the highest quality to ensure your home or any place you use them are filled with strong great smelling scents.

The candle I received was strudel and spice. It is a 12oz mason jar, with the soy wax poured in. The candles also come in 16oz as well. There is a decorative twine and little cooper paw charm attached around the lid, to save after your candle is all gone. The lid is even vintage cooper looking, so sweet.

So, I was so excited to light my candle! And that I did, and it only took a few minutes, that my home smelled like I was baking strudel in my oven. In fact my daughter, came downstairs and asked me what I was baking. Although she was disappointed it was not something to eat. She said the scent went upstairs to her bedroom. My house smells amazing.

If you want more information about PawsitivelyLit, head over to Etsy. Let Gary know if you need something special, and remember every purchase helps a shelter animal. Also at the Etsy shop, you will find other candle designs, that Gary makes.

Easter Bunny, Easter Egg History

The history of the Easter bunny, according to some, arrived here in American during the 1700's. Along with the German immigrants, that settled in Pennsylvania, and brought with their tradition of a egg laying hare. This was known as Osterhas. The little children wood make nest for these eggs, and waited to see if the hare laid colored eggs.

In truth the Easter bunny is folklore, and brought from it a rabbit which in turn brought Easter, then Easter eggs.

There are many different traditions, and different ways others celebrate the Easter Holiday. To some they decorate eggs, and give them as gifts, while others cover cardboard eggs, that are then covered in satin, and come filled with Easter gifts inside.

The Easter bunny that came from all of this became more common during the 19th century. And this is how it became so popular for children to have Easter egg hunts as part of their holiday tradition. But not all counties believe in a Easter bunny. Switzerland for Easter, have their eggs brought by a cuckoo, while in parts of Germany, their eggs come by fox.

However you celebrate the Easter Holiday, we know soon after, spring will arrive!

Sweet Potato Snap Treat Review

Today when I opened the door, a box appeared on the porch. When I opened it, to my surprise, I did not expect to find so many pet snaps. Lisa Pullen, owner of Sweet Potato Snaps, sent over seven bags of her homemade pet snaps.

The thought came to her after she was looking for dog treats that were 100% healthy and might not only be perfect for her own pets, but also nice for all of her fuzzy family members. It is then that she discovered, safe pet snacks, that wouldn't bother her pet's belly. So, in 2018, is when she started producing 100% of all natural pet treats

She has managed to not only make these treats in Sweet Potato, but other flavors as well. From a simple sample, to a growing business, Lisa Pullen has pulled the task at hand off. Each snap snack comes in a resalable bag, to keep the freshness in after you open it. Also on the label is the amount, of each sweet potato snap to give your dog according to size.

In every bag, the snap treats are sliced long ways, so all your furry little babies can eat and enjoy their new snack, and it's gone soon after you hand it to them.

The flavors that I got from Lisa, are the original sweet potato flavor, some cranberry flavor, a apple and a blueberry.

Now these Sweet Potato snaps are not just for dogs, you can give them to horse's, rabbit's, and furry little pet you have.

They are 100 percent all natural sweet potato's, with no additives, no antioxidants, gluten free, and best of all no fillers or artificial ingredients. You can get your sweet potato pet snacks in a five or ten oz bag.

All the treat snaps are made with sweet potato's, plus other fruit added like the cranberries, apple and the blueberry Lisa sent me. Also Lisa, grows her own ingredients where she lives in Wisconsin.
So what better way, then to let my own Doberman, Toretto, give me his opinion. First up, a sweet potato flavor, and don't worry each piece is small, he has a lot to taste!

So my boy, Toretto, loved each flavor! And as I sit here typing, he is sitting right by me wanting more.
If you are interested in giving your furry loved one a great treat, head over to www.sweetpotatosnaps.com. Your pet will thank you after!

BorequeRUMCakes Product Review

After our dinner tonight, the family had a real treat. Ana Oliveras, owner of BorequeRUMCakes, a Etsy shop, sent a rum cake for me to try. Ana, hand makes these cakes, all the way from Puerto Rico, with high quality Bacardi rum. So the family was excited for dessert tonight, to say the least. Rum cake is great for any dessert, Holiday, or gift, you can't go wrong.

The Rum cake was a 4oz size, made with love, and Caribbean flavors.

The Bacardi rum does not over power the cake, but when you do unseal it, you can smell the rum scent. Ana's, rum cake is very moist, and the rum flavor is just perfect. When you bite into it, its very soft, and then the Bacardi, rest on your palette for a short time, in a very tasteful and pleasant way. The balance is perfection. This little treasure Ana has created, is great alone, with ice cream, or any topping you may think of.

In my opinion, its one of the best rum cakes my family and I have tasted in a long time.

Ana has a real gift of making these treasures. And if you are interested, head over to her Etsy shop. Her rum cakes make great desserts, but with Easter coming would make a great addition to a gift basket.

What ever you decide to do, keep the rum cake for you and your family, or give it as a gift, someone is going to be very happy.
