Friday Recipe
PENNSYLVANIA DUTCH FUNNEL CAKES
3 eggs
2 cups milk
1/4 cup sugar
3 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
Preheat oil in a cast iron skillet on medium high heat (for an electric frying pan preheat to 375 degrees). Leave room between the oil and the top of the pan to allow room for batter to be added. Beat eggs, add milk and sugar. Beat well. In a separate bowl, sift flour, salt and baking powder. Add to egg and milk mixture. Beat until batter is smooth. Batter should be thin enough to flow through the opening of your funnel. If needed, add a little more milk.
Put your finger over the bottom of the funnel and pour batter in top. Drizzle batter in hot oil making criss crosses and swirls. (I use a measuring cup with a thin spout to do this, easier for those of us less coordinated!). Let brown on bottom and then carefully flip it over with tongs to brown on the other side.

Pork Chops that taste great
Ingredients:
6-9 pork chops (not too thick, you can use boneless pork loin)
2 eggs
4 Tbs water
2 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. garlic powder
Canola or vegetable oil for frying chops
Glaze:
1 1/2 cups honey
1/2 cup brown sugar (I added this)
1/2 tsp. ginger
dash of cayenne pepper (to your taste)
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 Tbs chopped garlic
2 Tbs butter
Whisk the eggs and 4 Tbs. water together in a shallow dish.
Mix the flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in another shallow dish.
Dip the chops in the flour, then over into the egg.
Then back over into the flour mixture once again. This is what puts the extra crispy coating on the chops. Be sure to get plenty of flour on in this last coating, then shake them a little and place in a pan with about a half inch of oil. Be sure the oil is hot, but not too hot or the chops will cook too fast. You need to get it good and hot and then turn to about medium.
Cook for about 6 minutes on each side. Try not to turn more than twice or your breading will come off.
Remove from the pan to a 9"x13" baking dish.
Saute the garlic a little in the butter.
Add the honey, soy sauce, brown sugar, cayenne, and ginger. Bring to a boil then reduce to low and simmer for about 5 minutes. Watch this carefully because it will foam and might boil over.
Pour 1/2 of the glaze over the pork chops. Flip them over and pour the other 1/2 over the other side. Place uncovered in a preheated 350 degree oven for about 20-25 minutes. This sets the glaze and finishes them to be sure they are cooked through.

Review for Robert Rothschild product
As in the past, I received two products from my dear friends at Robert Rothschild Farm. They sent for me to taste and review, red raspberry syrup, and red raspberry pancake and waffle mix.
Robert Rothschild Farm, for my readers FYI, is a family owned and founded company, located in Urbana Ohio. They have won many awards for their specialty foods, and after you taste them, you will surely know why. The flavors are intense, and the products always so easy to use.
So let's get started, and make breakfast with these two tempting products. First off the pancake and waffle mix. I am going to make both, pancakes and waffles, and not only top it with the red raspberry syrup, but some fresh raspberries on top.
The red raspberry pancake and waffle mix was easy to make. Great for mom's and dad's, who are on the go. To make the pancakes I only needed to add a few ingredients and got great, light, fluffy, wonderful tasting pancakes, that we're gone in a instant. It was great knowing my family was eating a product that is made from all natural ingredients.
I added, as I said I was going to do, some fresh raspberries, but did not need to add any into the mix, as it was already loaded with the sweet fruit. It was a great start to our day.
Also I made some waffles with the same mix, but again, adding very little ingredients. The waffles, like the pancakes came out sweet and fluffy, and full of flavor.
What made breakfast even better was adding the red raspberry syrup on top of the pancakes and waffles.
What made breakfast even better was adding the red raspberry syrup on top of the pancakes and waffles.
The syrup also, is made up of all natural ingredients. Full of rich red raspberry taste, that was made by hand. Not to be fooled by this syrup, it would also taste great on other foods, like a favorite dessert or even in some cold milk.
What ever product you choose from Robert Rothschild farm, know that you are getting a taste of love in every bite. The same love they put into making their products.
If you would like to try some for your self, hop on over to their website www.robertrothschild.com, your world will change forever, after one bite.

Enjoy fresh bread when you buy bread with the right color on the day you are shopping.

DIY Cucumbers
1. Fat busting: Do you ever wonder why women put cucumbers on their eyes to relieve puffiness? The photochemical in cucumbers makes the collagen in your skin tighten, thus the lack of puffiness. Did you know that you can rub a cucumber on a problematic spot of cellulite anywhere on your body to lessen the visibility of it? Did you also know that it has the same effect on wrinkles? Wow, it makes purchasing those fifty dollar creams seem a little silly, doesn’t it? You can also rub a little bit under your kiddo’s eyes after a long bout of crying to avoid that puffy ‘I cried for an hour straight’ look.
2. Defogger: Do you get annoyed when you get out of the shower and you have to fight the fog on the mirror? Who has time for that when the kids will be awake at any moment? Try rubbing a slice of cucumber on the mirror before you hop in and not only will you get a fog-free mirror, but you’ll have a nice smell that will boost your mood.
3. Headaches: If you suffer from headaches from chasing your babies all day (or pets or your husband), or had a little too much wine with dinner and want to avoid a hangover, eat half of a cucumber before bed. Cucumbers are high in B vitamins, sugar, and electrolytes, and they replenish the nutrients missing in your body to help you avoid a hang over or to beat that headache that’s been threatening to take over.
4. WD-40 replacement: Did you know you can get rid of a squeak by rubbing a cucumber on the hinge? Wow, now you don’t have to tear your garage apart looking for that little can with the red straw, and the baby won’t wake up when you slowly open the nursery door to check on him.
5. Crayon on the walls: Take an unpeeled cucumber and rub the crayon off of the walls in the event that your kiddo left you some art. You can also use this technique to erase a pen mistake.
6. Halitosis killer: Take a slice of cucumber and put it on the roof of your mouth. Hold it there with your tongue for 30 seconds. The photochemical that you love for cellulite and puff reduction will also kill the bacteria that is causing your bad breath.
7. Tarnish remover: If you’re finding tarnish on your stainless steel kitchen faucets and appliances? Rub it off with a cucumber slice. Not only will it remove years of tarnish, it will leave it streak free and your hands will thank you, and your kids won’t be put at risk from a dangerous chemical.
8. Energy booster: If you’re feeling tired in the afternoon, don’t give Starbucks your five bucks. Instead, grab a cucumber. There are just enough carbohydrates and B vitamins to give you a longer-lasting and healthier boost of energy than soda, coffee, or those health hazard energy drinks.
9. Munchy madness: Did you know that European trappers ate cucumbers for energy and to keep from starving to death? If those big burly manly men can eat a cucumber to keep from starving, you can eat one as a healthy choice when the munchies hit. Slice some up and take them in a small plastic container to the movies if your theater doesn’t offer healthy alternatives to munching on butter soaked popcorn.
10. Frugal facial: Slice up a cucumber and boil it in a pot of water. The chemicals inside of the cucumber will mix with the steam. Remove the pot from heat and lean over it, letting the steam hit you. Your skin will be more radiant and healthy, and you will feel relaxed and rejuvenated.
11. Shoe polish: Cut a slice off of your cucumber and rub it on your shoe. It will not only shine it up, but it will repel water.
12. Pest control: Put three or four slices of cucumber in a small pie tin and place them in your garden. The chemicals in the cucumber have a reaction that pests hate. You won’t smell it, but it will drive them from your garden all year long. Replace them periodically.
13. Sunburn: Sometimes sun block doesn’t always protect your little ones from sunburn. If you have burnt little kiddos you don’t have any aloe, rub some cucumber on them. Many doctors even use cucumber to treat patients with irritated skin and sunburns.
14. Blood pressure: Cucumber has been long used to treat high blood pressure. If you have it, add cucumbers to your daily diet. There is also ongoing research into the use of cucumbers for lowering cholesterol.
15. Constipation remedy: The seeds of a cucumber are a diuretic. If you’re constipated, try eating a cucumber. If you suffer from chronic constipation, add cucumber to your daily diet.

FYI Vicks Rub
1. Decongest Your Chest
The most common use of Vick's is to decongest your chest and throat area. When applied to the upper chest, it provides excellent relief of cough and congestion symptoms.
2. On Your Tootsies
Applying Vick's to your feet provides nighttime cough relief. Generously rub Vapor Rub all over your feet and cover them with socks. Your cough will subside.
3. Achy Breaky Muscles
Vick's relieves sore, overworked muscles. It increases circulation and provides almost instant aid. Use a generous portion and apply it over the aching area.
4. Get Rid of Nasty Nail Fungus
Rub VapoRub on your toenails if you suspect you have a fungus. Within days, the nail will turn dark—this means the Vick's is killing the fungus. As your toenail grows out, the dark part will grow off and you will have fungus-free feet. Keep applying the ointment over a period of two weeks to fully cleanse nail beds of any remaining bacteria.
5. Stop Your Cat from Scratching
To prevent Miss Kitty from ruining your doors, walls, and windows, apply a small amount of VapoRub to these areas. Cats detest the smell and will steer clear. Vick's can also be applied to your arms and legs if your kitty is prone to scratching you.
6. Pet Pee-Pee Deterrent
If your dog or cat is not yet potty trained, put an open bottle of Vick's on the area he or she likes to mark as their territory. The smell will discourage them from lifting their legs and wetting your rug.
7. Headaches Be Gone
Rub a small amount of Vick's VapoRub on your temples and forehead to help relieve headaches. The mentholated scent will release pressure in your head and instantly
relieve pain.
8. Humidify Your Sleep
Vick's VapoRub can be used in special types of humidifiers and vaporizers. Ensure your humidifier has an aromatherapy compartment before using. The humidifier
will circulate Vick's throughout the air and keep you breathing easy all night long.
9. Paper Cuts and Splinters
To prevent infection and speed up healing time, dab a small amount of Vick's on any small cut or splinter.
10. Ticks and Bugs
If you get bitten by a tick, apply Vick's immediately. The strong odor might help get the critter to release itself and stop bugging you.
11. Reek-free Racehorses
Professional racers smother VapoRub under the nostrils of racehorses on race day. The strong stench deters the stallions from the alluring odor of the female pony and
keeps them focused on the race.
12. Go Away Mosquitoes (love this one!!!)
Apply small dabs of Vick's VapoRub to your skin and clothes and mosquitoes will steer clear. If you do get bitten, apply Vick's to the area and cover it with a Band-Aid to relieve itching.

Glennys Greek Yogurt Bar Review
Today I would like to tell my readers about two great
products, from Glennys. I received them today and I am about to taste test each
one. But first I want to share a little about the company. Glennys has been
making healthy snacks since 1979. This isn't my first time trying their
products, but their Greek Yogurt Bars are brand new, and I am honored to try
them out. Glennys products are great for everyone, especially those who are
working on losing weight, or just eating better. Their products are made for
the Heart Healthy ingredients and soy. For the most part the products are 100
calories, some a slightly bit higher, but always come in sensible portions. What's
also great is the fact that they are certified Kosher. What ever product you
decide to try from Glennys, you will always be guaranteed a great taste.
The first box of bars I received was the Glennys GreekYogurt lovers bar in triple layered strawberry. It was full of all natural
fruit and nuts. And guaranteed to make you feel in love at first bite. This
gluten free bar is made with all natural ingredients, and is also gluten free.
The best part of the bar was the extra layer of strawberry filling.
Next up was the triple layered chocolate coconut lovers bar.
Also made from all natural fruit and nuts. It to was gluten free and filled
with a extra layer of coconut filling. So yummy.
Each bar is enrobed with a deep rich Greek yogurt. You will
find them hard to eat just one. As usual Glennys bars are easy to take with
you, in your pocket, purse, or lunch bag, or even to grab on the go.
If your interested in the many products Glennys has to
offer, I encourage you to visit their website. www.glennys.com. There is a tone
of great products to try, along with a ton of great information.

Chameleon Chili Sauce Review
Today I want to share
with my readers, a product review on Chameleon chili sauce. I received three
jars from the company, and I couldn't wait to get started. But first a little
about them.
Chameleon Chili Sauce
is a specialty creation with very unique blends of ingredients which anyone
could use in a variety of ways. From dips to pasta sauce, the products are can
be used. All the sauces blend easy with your recipe, in fact they add a flavor
that pops and becomes very distinctive.
So lets get started.
For my first dish I made with the original chili sauce, short ribs. I braised
my ribs, that near the end added the whole jar, no other spices were used. The sauce
gave my short ribs the same tomato flavor as if I had used pasta sauce. The
difference was the flavors were more dominate. The blend was so outstanding there
was nothing left.
Next I cooked some
pasta as a side dish and used the red pepper lime sauce. Again all I used was
the jar of chili sauce, nothing else added. It actually coated the pasta better
than a jar of pasta sauce. You get the taste of the red pepper, and hint of
lime. What was great the sauce already had oils in it and cumin, so I really
had a complete seasoning mix going on.
For a third dish, I
went with a sloppy joe burger, and used the chipotle chili sauce. This gave my
sloppy joe's a southwestern taste. Not to hot but not to mild. It made the
sloppy joe burger's zesty and full of southwestern flavor. The blend of spices
gave the burgers a rich smokey peppery taste.
In all with each dish no other
ingredients needed to be added for flavor. The chili sauce's did it all. For a great sauce Founder Jonathan Robbins has
made his mark. The ingredients are from fresh vegetables straight from the
garden. It doesn't get any better than this.
If you would like
more information, and some great recipe ideas, head over to the website
wwwchameleonchilisauce.com. Not only do the chili sauce's add great flavors to
recipes, they would make a great gift to give.

DIY for dripping pops
A neat way to keep fingers from getting sticky is to poke a hole through a cupcake liner and slip your Popsicle stick through. Kids love not getting all sticky, and mom's love it to.

Robert Rothschild Product Review
Waiting for me on the porch yesterday was a package from Robert Rothschild Farm. I always know when I open it, something great is inside waiting for me to taste test and blog about. The company is from Urbana Ohio, and I have blogged for them several times, and their products are well worth the typing.
Their products are always rich and bold in flavors, not matter if its jams or coffee, you get great tastes. The company produce's high quality products from start to you finish in your own kitchen. So I can't wait to try the two I received today.
First up was the chocolate chip scone mix. Easy to follow directions gave me such yummy scones to go with the organic French vanilla ground coffee they sent. But first, let me tell you more about the scones. The mix was full of sweetness, and tons of chocolate chips. And they can be served up with so many toppings, such as butter or whipped cream, to fresh fruit. For mine I left them exactly as they were. In ten minutes I had the most moist, yummy scones I have tasted. They were very decadent, so full and rich in flavor, and yummy in each bite I took. They were gone fast, and after you try them, you'll know why. They are great for a breakfast serving or even a snack, and they also look great on a brunch table. The best part as if could be beat, is they are all natural.
Next up, to drink with my scones, I made a pot of the organic French vanilla ground coffee they sent along. Any one in my family can tell you I love my coffee, and flavored is my favorite type. This coffee gives you the taste of sweet vanilla in every sip you take. Pair it with the chocolate chip scones and your taste buds will be in heaven.

HOMEMADE BABY WIPES
Supplies:- Tall, round 3 Quart container with a lid
- Better quality paper towels (the cheap paper towels don't work well on a dirty bottom)
- Knife to cut the paper towel roll in two
- Baby shampoo
- Baby oil
Directions:
1. Cut a paper towel roll in half so you have two short rolls.
2. Set one roll inside the canister. Set the other half aside for next time.
3. Combine and stir together:
1 1/2 cup hot tap water
2 Tablespoon baby shampoo
2 Tablespoon baby oil
4. Pour the liquid mixture over the top of the paper towel roll. As the liquid soaks through, the moisture will loosen the cardboard center making it easy to pull out. If you get lucky, it will bring with it the end of the paper towel roll. If not, carefully pull on the wipes in the center to get the sequence going.
5. Pull out the amount of paper towels (from the center) that are needed. Reseal after each use.
6. If the wipes are not wet enough or the lid doesn't get put back on, just add more water. If the wipes are too moist, leave the lid off for a little while.

Today I received two curd and tart fillings from a company, Robert Rothschild Farm. The company has sent me several products to review in the past, and I always look forward to the new one's they send. Robert Rothschild farm, is proudly owned and operated by family in Urbana Ohio. They have over the years, produced award winning foods, like toppings, curds, dips, sauces and much more. Their products are made with care, and love, which you taste in each bite.
The first product I tasted and reviewed is the Lemon Curd & Tart Filling. The filling is just so delectable, and fresh tasting. You get the tartness from the fresh lemons, and the sweetness comes from the sugar. The filling can be used not only for baking but for cooking as well. It can also be simply used as a spread on a fresh baked scone. The recipe ideas are just endless. For my taste test I used it in baking, a small tart, and some lemon curd General Tso chicken.
The tart came out so creamy, and I might say, very tasty. I made a homemade crust and filled the tart with nothing but the filling. Baked it, and ate it. The tart was one of the best I ever made, thanks to the filling.
For my chicken, I made General Tso, and instead of the soy and other ingredients, I used the curd, on my cornstarch coated chicken. My family definitely wants it again.
The next test was to taste the Key Lime Curd & Tart Filling. For this I made cupcakes. I not only used a few tablespoons in the dry mix, I used the remaining curd in my frosting. It made the cupcakes very moist, and kept you wanting more. The filling also made the homemade frosting smooth and creamy. You got the combined flavors of the key lime and sweet butter in every bite. I would also use this as a basting on chicken as well, possibly even a roast pork with some pineapple. However it is used, the end results will be the same, yummy.
If you would like to know more about the company, and their many wonderful products, head over to their web site www.robertrothschild.com. You'll be glad you did.
