Lizbeth Lane Gourmet Sauce's Review

In my home most of the time I am cooking Italian dishes or Spanish dishes. So I was very excited when I received some gourmet sauces from Lizbeth Lane to try out. I received four bottles, one Lemon Piccata, one Roasted red pepper and basil cream, one roasted vegetable pizza sauce, and one tomatillo cilantro pizza sauce.

A little about the company. Rid and Michael whom are great cooks, wanted to share and cook their recipes and create some creative ones. This is what led up to their unique simmer sauces, and great pizza sauces. Not to mention some others they have created.

The products are all natural, and are gluten free. They have a great shelf life, and all come in nicely designed jars, that would look great in any gift basket.

So, let's get stared. For dinner I made a Spanish Italian feast. The first course was a appetizer of pizza made with the roastedvegetable pizza sauce. Now for this I made my own pizza crust from scratch. I put the sauce on the bottom and topped it with some tomatoes, black olives, green pepper, and some mozzarella cheese. It was a super start to our meal. The sauce was very fresh tasting. I didn't want to add to many veggies on top of my pizza because the sauce was just loaded with it's own veggies, like onions, carrots, zucchini and roasted tomatoes. You also got the garlic in there with some olive oil, that gave the pizza just the right seasonings. I did not need to add anything further.

For the next dish I made for my husband Layered Chicken enchiladas with the Tomatillo Cilantro Pizza sauce instead of a red sauce. Well there was nothing left. I must tell you, when using these sauces you will not have to add any other seasonings to your dishes. The sauce gave the dish that great taste of the southwest as well as the Spanish flair. The sauce was light and hearty at the same time. And you could taste the flavor of the tomatillo and cilantro in every bite. Great hit as well.

Now for the Italian side of the main course, I made a pasta dish with the roasted red pepper and basil cream sauce, instead of traditional red sauce. It gave the pasta a much better flavor than that of using another brand of red sauce. All the flavors for Italian cooking were already available in the sauce. You get roasted red peppers, garlic, basil and the fine herbs and spices already in a cream. Easy to use and great tasting on the palette.

Now for a dish that everyone enjoyed this evening. Lemon piccata chicken with a hint of torn basil, and sliced lemons. Wow, is the one word out of everyone's mouth. I usually spend a little time making this dish. But with the sauce already for lemon piccata it was faster and tasted better. Again all I had to do was coat and fry the chicken and add the sauce. The spices ready to go right in this simmer sauce. You got the perfect blend of what was needed for this dish. Lemon, garlic, sherry, capers, with the herbs and spices. I am telling you, if you work late and want to come home and make a fast great tasting meal, these sauces are wonderful. You family or quests will think you worked for hours. But it will be your little gourmet secret.
