You have had sweet potato pie, sweet potatoes mashed, and sweet potato fries. But have you ever had sweet potato burgers? Well if you would like to try these wonderful tasting burgers here is what you need to get started.
  • 5 large sweet potatoes
  • 2 cups uncooked brown rice (4 cups water or broth, 2 Tbsp. oil or butter)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 large red onion, diced
  • 1-1/2-2 cups whole wheat or Italian breadcrumbs
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp. white pepper
To get started making these you will preheat your oven to 350 degrees. You want to bake your potatoes for a hour and a half or until fork tender. Next scoop out the inside of the potato into a bowl.

Next cook some rice and to your water add some broth and butter.

The next step you want to combine your rice with egg, onion and your spices, when combined add the mixture to your sweet potatoes, mixing well.

When your sweet potato mixture is done it is now time to form your burgers. When the burgers are formed, coat them with breadcrumbs. Then place on a baking sheet and bake for twenty five minutes.
