Do you give your dog raw meat?

What you feed your dog, will determine if he/she will grow up healthy. Feeding your dog raw meat can cause health problems.

Raw meat can cause salmonella in your dogs, just like it can in humans. In your dog, these numbers increase. For dogs salmonella attacks your pets intestines. Your dog will get diarrhea or vomiting, and can even cause death.

Raw meat does not give your pet the calcium that it needs. Pets need calcium to help them with strong bones and teeth. If your dog lacks calcium their muscle's may not develop. It can even effect the dogs nerve endings. As a matter of fact if you give your pet to much raw meat over a long period it can even effect his skeletal system to have problems.

Raw meat, like liver, will also make your pet develop a vitamin A toxicity. This toxicity will take calcium away from your dogs bones.

Another problem giving your dog raw meat is parasites. Your dog can get tapeworm. These worms are known to live in all raw meat. These worms will attach themselves to your pets insides. It will cause their stomach to become enlarged. Other symptoms will be vomiting, diarrhea and even coughing.
