Chocopeno Cookie Review

Tonite while having my night time coffee, I had my first cookie to review from Chocopeno Cookie, a Trenton NJ based bakery. They have the first Chocolate Chip cookie with Jalapenos.  My husband and we're excited to try them, him loving Jalapenos and me loving Chocolate how could you go wrong. Well I must say they are out of this world. When you first bite into them you taste the Chocolate, than the Jalapeno kicks in. The mixture of sweet and spicy is very well balanced. The Jalapeno does not overwhelm the cookie at all.

Mr. Michael Sylvester is the owner and the inventor for this cookie. His nickname "Sly", was also known as the "Pepper King". His recipe for the cookies are Jalapeno plants he grows that are from Mexico, and Belcolade Belgian Chocolate. The cookies also contain other organic ingredients such as wheat and soy.

His bakery only uses the finest of ingredients, which are all natural. Making these not only grate tasting cookies, but all natural. The cookies would be a great snack for any Vegan. When making the cookies Flax is used instead of eggs.

The cookies come in a 2oz bag, which holds around seven cookies. The package also comes with Spanish/English nutrition information on the back. The size is so perfect for vending machines, pubs, or even on the counter of a specialty store.

After tasting these powerful little cookies I would highly recommend them, for tasting. Chocopeno also has promotional items on their website that can be purchased. So check them out!

Stop Pitbull Fighting ( Contains Mature Reading Material )

Watching Pitt Boss on TV today, Shorty went to a house where Pit bull fighting was going on. Hearing the dogs, crying and screaming was heart stopping. How in the world people can subject dogs to this, I will never understand. How can anyone even say this is a sport, where did that catch phrase ever come from. It's illegal, and the penalties should be more stricter maybe then it will stop. And pit bulls are not the only victims. The poor dogs, that they use for bait are victims also. I have seen shows where they used little Chihuahuas. Dogs are not naturally aggressive, they are what their owners make them. When you see a large number of pit bulls chained or caged, this may be a sign they are fighting dogs. These poor dogs are easily identified by it's signs of war. Scratches, bites, missing body parts. When dog fighting rings are closed down, you will usually find dogs that we're left, dogs that are dead. These dog's don't know whats going on. All they want is love. Can you image being a female pit bull having your teeth pulled out so you can be bred over and over again. Sounds like a woman being ganged rape doesn't it. Another sign is a pit in a yard with cages all around. These pit's will often hold the signs of a fight past, blood, fur, body parts. Fights are not just in pits, they are held any where possible. Garages, yards, house's, where ever. These dog's we're not born to fight, they are made to fight. They have large chains around their neck, to make a big chest, made to walk on treadmills, and made to just plan fight. And what happens when one of these dogs get hurt, do the owners take them to the vet, no! If they treat the dog's themselves, the dog is lucky or is it. Does the owner really have the proper vet experience, probably not. The other option turn it into a bait dog. Or the last resort, kill it. Is it fair to the breed, that some states don't even allow you to own the bred. Your homeowners insurance won't cover you if you own the bred. The most popular for dog fighting for some reason or other is the red nose pit, when in reality out of all the pit bull's is the most docile. All states should have the laws against dog fighting, like Illinois has. They have the strictest laws in the US for dog fighting. Doing so in any form in the state is considered a felony. If you are convicted of dogfights you are not allowed to have any animal of any kind until the court deems. Recently Mike Vick was crying about the fact that his children should be able to have a dog, that it was not fair for them to be punished for what he did. Well maybe he should have thought of that first. It wasn't fair what he did to his dog's, but he didn't give a damn about that at the time. It discuss me that because he makes alot of money he did not get punished like a person like me or you would. These dog's can not always be rehabilitated, and therefor have to be put to sleep. It's bad enough the torture they went through not at their will, but to end up being put to sleep for what some unhuman person trained them to do. The dog fighters are not only doing illegal dog fighting but are gambling and, more than likely have drug and weapons on them as well. Instead of paying a dog fighting fee of $20,000 to $30,000 put on a dog's head, take the money and improve them selves and get out of the situation they are in. Animals can't take themselves to the vet, they can't go to the store for food, and they can't love themselves. That's are job as dog owners, or any animal owner. If you can't afford it, don't buy them. Get a real job, don't fight dogs, don't run puppy mills. That's finding the easy way out. GET A JOB.

Some Great Valentine Gift Ideas

Ladies are you single, don't let that stop you from celebrating Valentine's day, curl up with a glass of wine, and a great book. I'm Not St. Valentine is a great read. Rhiannon Neeley Clarice Johnson is divorced and happy about it. She's also found a new hobby--reading erotic romance. But there is something lacking in her life? Someone to show her just what being 'erotic' means. You'll have to get the book and read the rest :)

Valentine Candy for the school kids

Kindergarten kids will love this froggie Valentine candy. These innovative Valentine cards each contain real milk chocolate candy.

Innovative Valentine cards containing our real milk chocolate. The milk chocolate lips are incorporated into the adorable animal's expressions. There are eight different kinds in the package.

Bali Candy

Want to give your Valentine some great candy, then try, Bali's Coffee Candy, 300 Pieces Rich, creamy and smooth. This Candy is the best I ever tasted. Give it as a gift, they will love you for it.

Valentines Day is Coming

Valentines Day is coming upon us. For my husband and myself, this is our 15th wedding anniversary. So it's double the treats! For my valentine's cards, I love making them on my computer, and my cricut machine. I buy my stock at staples or even AC Moore. At staples you can get the card stock with the envelopes together in a large packet. Sharing your love on valentines day with someone special can be shown in so many ways. So I want to share with you some gift ideas:
Get a beautiful frame, and place a picture of the two of you inside. Make a card or write a note telling him/her what this picture means to you. Writing something your self is very romantic, and very memorable.

Get a small photo album and decorate it in a valentine theme, put all your favorite pictures in it of the two of you together, write in colored pen next to the picture, what that moment meant to your.

Make a digital slide show on the computer with your favorite photo's, and add your favorite songs or song to it. Then copy it to a CD. Print a valentine label out for the CD and place it in a CD case.

Remember you don't have to spend a fortune for gifts, a gift from the heart will be the most remembered. And will last longer than flowers or candy.
Make a "Memory Jar" similar to gift in a Jar. Take a jar and decorate the outside with some stick on valentines decor. Cut some pink paper into hearts or punch it out with a paper punch. Write some of your best memories on it and place it in the jar. Cover the top with some pretty lace fabric tied with a ribbon. He/She can pull a heart out and read your little posts.

Bake some heart shaped cookies and put a Popsicle stick in the, wrap in red plastic with a twisty tie around the bottom of the cookie. Get a nice glass vase and make your own cookie bouquet.

Remember how you used to write those love letters when you we're dating. Well maybe you still have them. Why not re-write them on some parchment paper and embellish them with some gold leaf, and put them in a antique looking frame.

How about a nice poem, and then put that into a nice frame, place it on a table with some candles around it. And surprise him or her with this as a nice center piece for a dinner you cooked.

And for the romantic at heart, send the kids to grandma's house. Get the bedroom nice and romantic, place some rose petals on the bed. Nice bottle of wine chilling next to the bed. Some chocolate covered strawberries. Nice music playing. And a trail from the front door to the bedroom, made out of valentine confetti. And just enjoy the evening alone at last.

How about leaving a romantic message on her/his answering machine. Or even voicemail, while they are out to lunch.

What women would not like for the whole world to see how much her man loves her, send a singing telegram.

If you can afford it, how about a nice bed and breakfast for the weekend, one that definitely has a fireplace.

Or even a nice ride to a out of the way little restaurant. Make it a nice scenic drive, then stop and have your dinner. And then have you bedroom waiting for when you walk in, with a valentine decor theme, and dessert waiting.

How about a nice carriage ride, if you live where they have them. Get off and take a nice stroll, stopping at a nice restaurant.

You can even plan a nice valentine indoor picnic with or without a fireplace. Some nice music, finger food to feed each other, and some nice smelling incense and candles.

Creating Great Smells in your Home

Even in the winter I love my home to smell fresh. I love Potpourri, wax melts, and even creating my own smells. I love different smells for my moods, the Holiday's, and even different times of the year. In the winter months I love the smell of pine, vanilla, even popcorn. Even the smell of chocolate is inviting. I would like to share with you how to create some of these smells without buy expensive candles, and incenses.
Vanilla Spice Potpourri
chop a vanilla bean, until it is fine. This makes the scent strong.
Place these in a Potpourri bag, you can find these in the dollar store or AC Moore. Then added some ground nutmeg, a few cinnamon sticks, then add some allspice, anise and whole cloves. When you have your bag full enough to your liking, pour vanilla fragrance oil on it. Then place the bag into a jar with a tight fitting lid. Leave your bag in the for two weeks, or longer. After which pour your Potpourri into your favorite bowl and enjoy.

Another spice Potpourri idea is a simmering one. Place a pot of water onto the stove and bring it to a low boil. From my saved fruit peels that I save in the freezer, I then add them to my pot. Orange, lemon, and apple are my favorite. I then add some of my favorite spices, you can add what you prefer, but for winter I still like my cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and allspice. Let this simmer until it goes through the whole house, then turn off. What ever you do, don't forget it's on the stove and go out.
If you love wintery nights like I do, and the fresh smell of winter outside you will love making this one. If you are looking for a scent to infuse your home you can't go wrong with the smell of Balsam. You can make a great scented oil, that you can put in a oil burner or simmering pot of water. Sometimes I rub my candles with it also. Even use it in my potpourri bags before placing them in a jar. This oil is simple to make also. Start by collecting some pine cones and balsam twigs. If you can't get the twigs in your area don't fear, there are other ingredients to make up for it. First take the pine cones and twigs outside and hammer them gently until their oils start to release. Then you want to place a pot on the stove with 1/2 cup of unscented oil as the base (jojoba, grape seed, olive oil). Turn on using a low heat until it simmers. Put your pine cone and twigs into the oil along with cinnamon sticks, nutmeg and once again cloves. Occasionally stir to make sure it doesn't burn. After five minutes remove from the heat. Cool then pour into a jar with a cheesecloth over it to catch the pine cone and twigs. To do this one handed I usually put the cheesecloth on the jar and secure it with a rubber band. It's best before doing this to remove any larger bits before pouring. After all the oil is in the jar, put the lid on and place it in the fridge. To use take some out and place in a pot or oil burner.

Then there's the candy Potpourri, yes cotton candy to be exact. You will need cotton candy essence, AC Moore is a good place to find this. Me and my little one have a good time making this one. Pour your essence into a glass bottle. If you want a sweeter smell ad french vanilla essence, or make it fruity with a fruit essence. You use a eyedropper to keep adding the different essence's until you get the candy cotton smell you like.

Special Pizza City Ewing NJ

One of my favorite pizza places to eat is Special pizza city. The guy's are always friendly. My favorite is the chicken salad. No I don't mean the kind with mayo. It's a salad with what taste like roasted chicken on top. I always eat mine with a side of their wing sauce. The place is always busy, but plenty of seats. You can get a fountain drink or bottle drink from the cooler. It is counter service, they call your name when you found is ready. You can pay when you order, or pay before you leave. They have two TVs you can watch, one in the front of the restaurant, one in the back. The food is always fresh tasting, and very good. The portions are large, the price's very reasonable. They have a very wide variety of pizza to choose from. And a large array of other menu items, from salads to full meals. Another favorite is the honey mustard chicken pizza, delicious. Since we have a college close by this is a great place for them due to the reasonable price's. They also have a board with specials on it, that may even come with fries, and a soda. They also have delivery, you can call or fax your order in. You can also call or fax your order ahead of time to pick up. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Clean in appearance also.

Winter and my hands are killing me...............

Well it's snowing again. And I know after talking to a friend of mine, her hands are killing her just as much as mine are. The cold weather really can have a negitive effect on your skin. Since I love house-cleaning, it doesn't always love me back. I try to use gloves, but I don't always. But ya know what even when I do, for some reason my hands still do the same thing, every winter. Every year around the nail at the top I get little cracks. They hurt like paper cuts. On the sides I get hard skin. So I am going to try some calendula oil and see how it goes. I have never used it before but I am willing to give it a try.

Do you have a Picky Eater????

Do you have a child/children that is a picky eater. My eight year old's menu is very limited. I know that children's taste buds are constantly changing. This she liked at five, now at eight she doesn't. One day she loves something, the next week I can't get her to eat it anymore. Sometimes she won't even try it because of the way it looks. The other day we went to CiCi's pizza, and she shocked me. She ate pizza with cheese and spinach. Wow, my kid just ate a new veggie! But I can't feed her pizza every day with spinach on it, now can I. I have been told picky eaters are not uncommon, and as long as she is not losing weight that's fine. But what a menu. So I would just like to share some tips that I have tyred. Some have worked, some failed. But I will share them with you all the better. Good luck if you try them. One of the best tips that worked for me, is letting her pick her produce and putting it in the bag and into the cart. And then when we get home and make dinner I let her pick what veggies she will eat that night for dinner. Some veggies she will not eat cooked like carrots. So the ones she doesn't like cooked goes in her salad.
Making the meals fun has worked also. I make what she call's a buffet. I just get a large cutting board and put a little amount of some of her favorite things. Usually cold choice's. This may include veggies, dips, cheese, fruit, even lunch meat's. I also find if I let her help me cook it, she will eat better also. Letting her put it into the pan, letting her carefully stir or flip. Or anything that she can get herself, put it on a plate and microwave. She definitely loves to dip her veggies. Together we also watch the cooking channels to get ideas. Then head to the kitchen to create. I also try and encourage her by telling her the healthy choices, and inform her of the downfalls of eating the wrong things. Another tip I use is to share off the same plate with her, she just thinks that is the neatest thing. Although I try to encourage her to eat the new things, I never get upset if she doesn't, I just try another time. I try to take her favorite things and try to come up with recipes using a variety of them. I also like to give her drinks that make up for the things she won't eat. Like v8 fusion. I was very surprised when this became one of her favorite drinks. I also give her grape juice and apple juice. Another great tip I use when making a sandwich I use a big cookie cutter to make shapes out of the sandwich. This is a favorite especially for school lunch. I definitely keep the McDonald's and potato chips to a minimum, these I know she will eat :) So if you have a picky eater try some of these tips, and good luck !

Homemade doggie treats..............

I have some recipes to make for doggie treats. But it is important that you don't give chocolate, grapes, raisins, macadamia nuts, or onions to your doggies. You can as find online many different shaped cookie cutters such as bones in various sizes. Here are some I have made, I hope you enjoy the recipes:

Breath Fresh
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour or white flour ( whole wheat for organic )
• 1 1/2 cups Bisquick baking mix
• 1/2 cup mint leaves
• 1/4 cup milk
• 4 tablespoons margarine
• 1 egg
• 1 1/2 tablespoons corn syrup
combine all your ingredients in a food processor, and mix well, and the mint is chopped. Mix until a ball forms. Remove the ball to roll onto a non stick surface such as a floured board or ceramic block until it is 1/4 thick.
Then cut 1x2 strips or cut with shaped cookie cutter, then place on non stick cookie pan. Bake 375, for 20min or lightly browned. Cool before serving, freeze leftovers or store in treat or cookie jar for up to three months.

 Strips of Banana's
1 egg
1c fast-cook oats
1/2 banana
1/3c milk
1/2c all-purpose flour
1/8c rice
peel your bananas, smash your bananas with a fork, in a separate bowl beat your eggs that mix in with your bananas. Spread them even on a microwaveable plate. microwave for 3.5 minutes. cool, cut and serve.

Pooch's Pops

1 Quart fruit juice
1 banana, mashed
1/2 cup yogurt
Mix ingredients together thoroughly, then freeze in ice cube trays. Your Pooch will love this on a hot summer's day.

Cheese Doodles for Poodles

2 cups all purpose flour
1 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 tsp.garlic powder
1/2 c. vegetable oil

Resturant Review for this Month

Cici's pizza is this month's restaurant of choice. It's a pizza buffet, dessert, salads and drink kinda place. All the pizza's are made fresh. It's a great place to eat for a great price. It even has a game room in the back for kids. Kids 3 and under eat for free. For us the closest restaurant is in Langhorne PA.

TGIF

Well better late than never, the principal at my daughters school called around 5pm to set up a meeting to discuss the work in the class that's been given out. I go this Friday to meet with the teacher, and principal. So we will see what happens. I just hope that I didn't cause my daughter any problems. My girlfriend is having the same problem and it seems now that every time she turns around she's back in for a meeting because her son feels the teacher is picking on him. I am not going to critical of the teacher, my concern is she has never had a class room of kids before and I am concerned on what she is not learning. But off onto better things. Even though it has snowed, there is alot of work coming up. All we need is this dam snow to get out of here and stop coming. You must admit though it is pretty when it night and you look at it under a street light. It looks like tiny little diamonds. If only they we're real :) I know it will get better. My husband sometimes thinks I'm crazy but I refuse to let this economy get me. I try to keep things as normal as can be, a little less money coming in, but I refuse to roll over and die. You still need to take a breather about worrying about money and have some fun and laughter in your life. So today we took a ride over to Langhorne Pa and went to CiCi's Pizza. For two adults and one child it came to $18.00. It's all you can eat pizza, drinks are extra so me and my little one shared a drink ( it is however all you can drink ). They also have salad, soup, dessert, and many types of pizza, and pasta. There's a game room in the back to. You can even order a pizza with your topping of choice and they bring it out to your table. They have brownies, cinnamon buns and desert pizza. It's good, cheap, entertainment. So we have decided not to take our income for granted any more and live reasonable and cheap. So we don't have to struggle next winter. Sometimes easier said then done !!!!

Cuisinart Elite Collection 12-Cup Food Processor Review

For Christmas this year, my husband bought me the new Cuisinart Elite 12 cup food processor. I had seen the TV commercial for it several times. I wanted it really bad. I had the old version, and was looking forward to getting this one. It was so much nicer and did so much more. Cuisinart is one of the best MFG'S when it comes to processor's and other appliance's. I own several of them. They have several colors, but the stainless steal color matches my kitchen decor perfectly. My kitchen is a apple theme. And all my appliances are black and chrome. This processor fits perfectly on my counter right behind my cutting board.

The processor has a 4-cup work bowl that fits inside the big bowl, plus the adjustable 6-position slicing disc and reversible shredding disc. Also whats nice is that the disc's have finger holes in them so you don't get cut on the sharp edges. The two bowls are like having two processors in one! The lid also has a rubber seal for tight fitting, and preventing leaks. The blade that goes inside snaps in tight so when you take the bowl off and pour out your ingredients the blade stays put. It comes with a little extender when you use your blade in the 4cup bowl. The one disc for shredding has a reversible side for even smaller shredding so it's like getting two disc. It as a easy On/Off Locking System with Push-Button Release. It even came with a spatula made to fit the bowls.

My favorite and only spice McCormick's

My family loves to watch food network, and any other cooking channel. And with that comes having in stock alot of spices. With my husband being Costa Rican and me being Italian we need our culture spices. Ninety percent of them that we use are spices and herbs from McCormick. I built my spice rack using all the spices and herbs in the glass McCormick bottle jars. No matter what spice or herb you are looking for you can find it in McCormick, for sure. Always available and always fresh.

School is the Talk Today

With the cuts at schools, even in Ewing, some of the students are suffering. Take for example the teacher my daughter has. They laid off so many teachers and aids last year it wasn't funny. Then they moved the teachers around to different grades. They even got rid of the best Vice Principal the school ever had. Well instead of filling two spots with laid off teachers, or keeping two extra, they gave two third grade teachers the position that we're for the last ten years only reading teachers. Well needless to say on the first day of school my daughters teacher told her and the rest of the class, she didn't know what she was doing and they would learn together. Is that something you tell your class. Well it's been down hill since then. Not just my daughters teacher but the other class as well. It is very evident that the two of them compare and teach the same things. So alot of us parents can now compare notes. Most of us has had to turn to the board of ED, with our concerns because teacher conference's have not worked, guidance meetings have not worked, Principal meetings have not worked. Our kid's are being taught Kindergarten and first grade level work. My daughter last year won a gold metal for reading Olympics, this year she is reading low level books. There is no spelling homework, no social studies homework, no science homework, no projects to do. Maybe once or twice a week she gets math. But every night she has to read and think. The cherry on top the cake was last nights home work. It was like pre-school, you had to color by numbers to make a teddy bear picture. I emailed it to the board of Ed and everyone at the school asking if they really feel this is third grade curriculum. The only one who emailed me back was the one board of ED person. My daughter told me the teacher took my note and looked at it and said, "what ever". I am really worried that my daughter is no way going to be ready for fourth grade. All the other third graders are already on cursive writing and multiplication. So since no one wants to give me any help or answers, I am going to keep a folder with all homework assignments and send it in with her when she goes into fourth grade and let the teacher know if she is behind on anything, here is what she learned in third.

If this ever happens to your Bird............

  • At some point in time having your bird fly out the door or window can happen to anyone. A loud noise or bang and an open door or window and there they go. This does not mean you are a bad pet owner, it happens. Here are some tips for you to follow because usually the first place the bird heads for is the trees.
  • Hopefully you can retrieve your pet bird from the tree, harm free. Remember he/she is scared, and they want to come home but they are scared and in unfamiliar surroundings.
  • Keep calm, and keep talking. Hearing you keeps them calm and believe me they know you are doing your best to get them home where they belong.
  • Of course the next step is getting up the tree. It's best to have someone going up the ladder that the bird knows. And also someone he/she knows still talking to them on the ground. Hopefully this will keep he/she calm and not taking off into another tree, but from my experience from last night this does happen.
  • If you can before climbing the tree take a treat with you and try to coach he/she over to you. Or even put her/his cage outside and leave the door open with food and water to see if he/she flies into it.
  • In my case believe it or not when I lost my bird she responded to me when calling her. So if your bird gets lost in a tree, stop and listen and see if you can hear them, and then you can head in that direction.
  • Another good tip, is if you have other birds try bringing that bird out in a carrier and see if your lost bird will responded.
  • I have had this bird get out once before, that time was in the summer. And that was scary, so if your bird becomes missing for more than two days, hit the Internet, there are hot lines, and classifieds to post his/her picture, and other details, in case someone finds her/him.
  • Also hit the neighborhood, let your neighbors know what happen and give them your phone number so they can contact you in case they see him/her. Also take a photo with you show you can give them something to compare to if seeing him/her.
  • And of course, as I had not done recently, CLIP THE WINGS. But know even clipped winged birds can still get out.
  • You won't believe it, but your bird can travel to another city, or even state so don't wait to long to hit the classifieds.
  • 911ParrotAlert.com. is a great place to start a ad.
  • Lost parrots don't get turned in to shelters, most of the time people will keep them. Hopefully you will find that one good person who is a animal lover and know how they would feel if their pet was lost.
  • Best of all don't give up. As much as you love your animals is as much as they love you.

My Hannah Montana

Yeah

I am happy to report that 5am this morning my husband got my parrot. Her wings we're frozen and she tried to fly and feel to the ground. We got her in the house put the blow dryer on her and sat with her giving her body heat for two hours. Happy to say she is in her cage eating and drinking. This is the power of love from human to animal.

My Presious Bird

My best friend, my Amazon Grey, got spooked today, and flew over my husbands head and out the door. She has been outside since 11am. My husband has been climing trees today like a monkey trying to get her down. He had her netted at one point and a hawk came down and almost took her. Needless to say it is 7:15pm and she is still out in these freezing temps in the tree. We keep going out with a flashlight to make sure she is still there. We can only prey that she will still be there in the morning and it does not rain ice so we can resume the rescue. I hope all my followers will say a prayer. I love my animals dearly, and she is one of the sweetest birds I have. I just hope she comes down lower tomorrow so we can reach her.

Todays Topic:Pets ( Puppy Mills )

Puppy mill (known as a puppy farm in the UK and Australia) is a common term used to describe large scale dog breeding operations. The term originated among critics of these operations. Small-scale puppy farming is usually called backyard breeding. I have also been told this because I bred dogs in my home. But seriously where would you rather go my home to see the mom and dad and puppy being raised by a family with kids, or going and getting a sick animal and have no idea about it's background.
Critics argue that puppy mill operators ignore duties that are standard among responsible dog breeders - raising dogs in humane conditions, providing good socialization and formal training, and screening potential dog owners for suitability. Critics say that these "puppy farmers" are motivated only by profit rather than a commitment to the breed standard or any empathy for the animals in their care. It must be pointed out, however, that some excellent breeders run profitable large-scale operations with knowledgeable staff and superlative veterinary care, so size and motive alone are not indicative of the quality of the breeding program.
Puppy mill dogs may live in overcrowded, inhumane conditions, are poorly socialized, receive no training and often suffer from medical afflictions that are not disclosed to potential buyers. It is not uncommon for these breeders to misrepresent the breed of dog being sold, and the vast majority of these animals are sold to pet stores. I know I bought several. And they we're sick as hell.
Purchasing dogs from a pet store is therefore strongly discouraged by reputable breeders and animal shelter employees alike; it is assumed that many animal shelter dogs are pet store dogs who were purchased on impulse and abandoned when the owner lost interest. Animal shelters mean well, but you have to watch the advocates who take the dogs to places like pet smart. They will tell you anything to adopt the animal, and then when the animal bites your child and you call them they don't know you. I have done that to.  While many pet stores claim to purchase dogs from "local breeders" instead of puppy mills, this is often untrue or is a difference in name only, as reputable breeders generally do not sell animals to pet stores. Also the papers you get from pet stores for the pets are fake, the puppy mill people make their own. They are not AKC. Ride through Lancaster some time, that is where most puppy mills are. And they call them self's pure.

Topic Today: Pets

My heart is sadden today, because I have to sell one of my parrots. With my husband not working I am forced to start selling things. I had to also sell my husbands beautiful camera. I try to keep positive, but when we think we found a way to make it through the winter, life throws us another curve ball. If it would only rain and wash this snow away so we can work. It saddens me to see my husband down in the basement all day stripping wires to get copper to sell. If it wasn't for my daughter we would be in worse shape. My pets are like my babies. Do you know how hard it is to sell a bird that calls you honey. She is a yellow nape amazon who I hand fed from a baby. I also have a male electus and Congo African grey. If I have to start selling the others it will surely break my heart. It's bad enough my amazon is the best talker I have. My electus talks but she talks and sings all day. African Greys are supposed to be the best talkers, but I bought her from a puppy mill when I purchased my min pin Lil dude. I went into the pet store to buy food, knowing I should stay away from the pet section. But I looked and low and behold they had a red male min pin with his ears cropped. When I turned around in a small parakeet cage they we're housing a African grey. I just could not walk out without them. Right away I had to take them to the vet. Lil dude was sick and the African Grey was traumatized. I went back to the pet store to let them know with my vet's note mind you, that the papers could not belong to the dog because the dog wasn't even old enough to sell. And the papers stated he was six weeks old. He didn't even have pupils in his eyes. I breed dogs, Rottweiler's and min pin's and know what the hell I am talking about. But they insisted he was six weeks, and the vet they used was a liar as bad as they we're. Yes I knew their dogs came from puppy mills, the store owner had the balls to call me on the phone stating "how does it feel giving your money to a puppy mill" I told the witch it felt good knowing the puppy now had proper vet care, and a very loving and safe home, and if I could, I would buy all the freaking animals. Many years later I was looking for a ferret for my little one. And we went there to look, only at the request of my little one, and low and behold they had two. I asked if we could hold one. You could tell by looking at them how sick they we're. The cage was a pig sty. When my daughter held it, it laid lifeless in her arms. I told the girl if she cleaned up the cage we would be back in one hour because I wanted to get my check book. When we got outside my little one asked, mom I can get them. I said no honey, they are sick, and I only told the girl that, so she would at least clean their cage. I did find one however and she is so funny. She is happy, safe, and clean. I take care of my animals just as they are my children. My birds are out of their cage all day. Sammie our ferret comes out for hours after my little one comes home from school. I also have four dogs. Two from puppy mills, one found in a trash bag. And one from breeding. When I watch animal cops I get sick to my stomach. At one point my son wanted to be a SPCA officer. But I looked at him and said, can you really do that job without wanting to do to them as they did to the animal. Take Mike Vick, stating that he wanted to get his kids a dog. Anyone who sells him any kind of animal would be out of their mind. I know my amazon is going to a nice family. I will miss her dearly. I have cried all day. But thanks to the economy, I have to do whatever I can to survive. God Bless those who have lost so much. I would love to get some ideas how they survive in these times. Like I told my husband a home is where you make it as long as we stay together. http://www.puppymillrescue.com/

Paranormal

Just sitting here browsing others blogs. So I decided to look at some that have been on the paranormal. To my amazement there have been quite a few. Not only does the paranormal interest me, my family does practice Wicca. I found so many sites. My dream for this summer was to get a RV so we could go out further to do our investigations. So far the furthest we have been is Gettysburg. We want to go back, but on July 4th, since that was during the battle time. We have been to Eastern State Penn, many cemeteries, Betsy Ross house, Valley Forge, Burlington County Jail, Lambertville Inn, Fort Mifflin, Fort Delaware, Washington's Crossing, and want to go to so many more. I would love to go to Tombstone AZ, that is my dream. I think I found Greystone Manor, but don't know if you aloud to tour it. I have to say that since Ghost Hunters, alot of people have come out of the closet. I have been doing white magic since I was little, when I met my husband who is from Costa Rica I found Santeria, now I do both. I have told a few people but right away they think the worse. But like I told her the church does exorcism's, even though that is for demons it is still the practice of magic. Every one in my family does some form of practice, my son does it but really is skeptic ( he wants proof ). Anyway, I would love someone to share stories with and find some places to go other than where we have been. Me and my son's fiance are the biggest hunters. We have got some great proof at the unknown soldiers grave in New Hope and a great pic at the Lambertville Inn. She has a special talent but she is still not open to it, because she gets scared. I know if I had a RV I would Ghost Hunt every weekend.

This Weekend

Although right now things are bad with work, I am trying to keep the family as normal as possible. I refuse to just lay down and die. I have a eight year old, and can't expect her to just stay in the house all winter. I'm hoping something sells in my ebay store, or other sites so I can take her to Burlington/Mt Holly this Saturday to the Old Jail if its not to expensive. Savannah even gave me twenty dollars she was saving so we can go. Is that sweet or what. Wish me luck.

Some of my Favorite Movies

Now that we have netflix, I have reduced my channels with my cable company. I have nexflix on every tv in the house, my i phones, and i pod. I love this site, and my children love it. Having it on the i phones and i pod save me when we go out and my little one is bored. She is in love with her i pod as is, but having Netflix makes it even better. For christmas I bought her wii so she could not only get fit but get her netflix on her tv. I bought my son a roku box, and my daughters boyfriend a roku box to they to can get it at home. Not only the movies but you get Starz, just like cable. This morning we we're watching some documentary about a man who eats at McDonald's for one month. This was my little ones pick. But it was good for her. It showed her how junk food can really affect your body. And also showed her, in school, they are not cooking the food it comes in a box. The night before we watched a movie called Legendary with John Cena, it was a true story. And I really enjoyed it. There are so many things to choose from. Of course my favorite is a good thriller, or horror or a good drama. You even get tv shows. And of course, it has family guy. Not my favorite but some family members do enjoy it.

Hard Times

Even thought times are hard right now, I have found some positive and peace in it. It has brought a family working together to survive for one thing, everyone doing what they can to bring money in. Trying to incourage everyone with positive thoughts. Even though you still every once in awhile find yourselves talking about the what if's. It's been a hard three months. At the each of each one I said "well" we made it through this one. But this month has been the hardest. There's been no income at all since Dec. Everything we have has been from scrapping metal, to borrowing from my daughter, to selling something. If it wasn't for my Stephie we would be up stream without a paddle. She has pulled through for us many times over. After work picks up, "hopefully" I want to do something special for her. Even though she would say just pay of the credit card and loan mom. I just want her to know how much I appreciate what she does for us. Love you Stephie !!!!

2004

In 2004 my daughter passed away from a drug overdose. The year before her father did. After that I wanted so much to know if there was life after death. Or if there was some way to communicate with her. That year I watched a movie called White Noise. I was so interested. From then on my family and I have been Ghost Hunting. We have caught some things on camera. I haven't got any evp's yet. But I have seen and heard things with my own ears. I truly believe with all my heart that she is within our home. The first thing that ever happen after she passed was my cell phone rang, and all I heard was "mommy", "mom". I didn't think it was funny, I thought someone was playing a joke. So I called the number back, and a elderly lady answered. She stated that know one had answered the phone, that it was only her and her husband there. About five minutes later my cell rang again. I heard this time "mom can you believe this". This was something I knew was true, and it was my daughter, due to her always saying this when something happen. After that her daughter started saying things, that she could not know. She was two when her mom passed. On the first birthday after my daughter passed, we we're sleeping. My phone rang the same time my daughter was born. When I got up I heard a toy clacking in her daughters room. This toy was broke. I have to admit at that time I was to scared to go in the room. It was pitch black, so I went back to bed. Many times her daughter's toys would come on. One's that needed to be touched to come on. One time my son's girl friend and I we're sitting in my yard. We we're talking about my daughter, cause my son's girl friend didn't get the chance to meet her. All of a sudden it got windy and all you smelled was lilac's (this is my favorite flower), and there we're no bushes in my yard or my neighbor's yard. One night sleeping I heard a whisper in my voice and it said "I am clean now mom". Also I had a dream she was all in white and we we're walking hand in hand not saying a word. The one time that stands out was when it was Christmas one year, I was sitting on my couch and this feeling came into me, and it was so loving and felt so good. I know she is my Angel now, and she talks to me in many ways. Through white noise, and through dreams, and most of all her daughter. It is almost like she is reincarnated through her. The words, the food she likes, and the sacrest things she says that there is no way she could know. I would love to hear from everyone who has had a experience like this or experience ghost hunting.

Another Dollarless Day

I know that there are people in the world worse off then my family is right now. I have to give them credit, I don't know how they do it. I'd love to know. It has been the most stressful three weeks of my life. You know it's bad when you have to strip wire to get copper to junk. I am selling things like crazy. Well I don't want to sound ungrateful. As long as we have a roof over our heads and food to eat, and each other we will be ok no matter what happens.

NO MORE Snow

My husband hasn't worked in three weeks. First it was the Holidays then it snowned, and now more snow. Why couldn't I win the lottery. I would have shared. My poor Keurig coffee maker is working over time. I need a miracle right now. I don't know how we are going to make it through the month. The last thing I need in my life right now is snow.

Upcoming

Next month is Savannah's birthday. I am hoping money gets better I would love to get her the Wii scribble pad and new Wii game. Hopefully when my son comes to visit he can fix her brand new wii board. For some reason it has stopped working.

Anything Else want to go wrong !

I just got over one could and now have another. My husband has not worked in three weeks. What else can go wrong. Yesterday I broke my daughters perfume bottle whom passed away and all the perfume came out. Well needless to say that was the cherry ontop of the cake. I had that bottle since 2004, and now its all gone. I was ruined for the rest of the day. Other than that my husband and I went to scap metal and made a little money. But now they are calling for snow again this Friday. Needless to say I hate the winter months. It is so stressfull. Being self employed in construction is nerve racking. I need my k cup coffe, I hear it calling me.

School starts tomorrow and I know Savannah can't wait. I think by now she is a little bored. She has had a great Christmas vacation. She got a new Ipod touch, wii, and a keyboard, among many other things. I didn't get any new school clothes. I think before you even realize it spring will be here. Tonite we are just hanging out. Savannah is playing with her friend Mike, husband and I am watching tv. Not much else.

Coffe Cup Time

Well before the night is over I am getting ready to do the dish's and have my last cup of coffee for the night. I love my flavored coffee and it's easy with the Keurig Coffee maker. My husband doesn't like flavored coffee so it gives me a chance to make his with out him tasting my flavor. These are the best thing ever. I couldn't live with out it.

Awe the Holidays are over

Well in two days school will start again. It's hard to believe that it is January already. Next month is my daughter's Birthday and it always feels right after that, that school is over. The year went by fast. The holiday's we're good. I hope everyone liked what they got. It was rough but I made it. Thank god I shopped early, because if I hadn't I don't think anyone would have got much. We are self employed ( http://www.roof-detective.blogspot.com/) and that can be risky at times. But we made it so far. I hope everyone has a great year.

What's for Dinner tonite?

Well husband cooked, he made shrimp scampi over linguine and shrimp cocktail. And it was really good. Later for a snack ice cream or grapes and cheddar cheese.

Welcome Message

Welcome to my blog, where the topics will be from cooking, to kids, to work, to ghost hunting. Yes my family and I go ghost hunting. In fact for New Years Eve we went to Pa to go to Eastern State Penn, but when we got there, they we're only doing tours. We we're very disappointed. We only like places we can walk around and hunt ourselves. But we had a good lunch. We ate accross the street at Jack's Firehouse. Then came home and watched Dick Clark's New Year's Even on tv. I even made it up till midnight.
