Beef Jerky review from Senor from Etsy

For my product review today, I want to introduce you to Senor Jerky's. The Etsy shop owner, Chris, from Austin, TX, sent me a gift pack of five different flavors that they offer. The premium beef jerky's come in this adorable muslin bag, great for giving as a gift, or putting in a gift basket. Each bag of jerky itself is 3oz's. The flavors I received were, Original mesquite, peppered, dill, habanero and michelada. I am enlisting the entire family for this review. So let's get this tasting started.

First up is the original mesquite. And did I mention that each jerky product from Senor is handmade. Well the taste of the original is really yummy. They are just the right texture for chewing, not horribly tough at all. You get the hint of the pepper with the liquid smoke, and the sweetness of the brown sugar. No over bearing flavors here, each is well balanced.

Next up a flavor of beef jerky I have never tasted, dill pickle. This should be interesting, because who doesn't love a good dill pickle anything, I know my family does. Well this jerky as well as the other has a great texture, you won't break your teeth eating them. The balance of the spices, and the dill pickle juice used in the ingredients are perfect. In each bite you get that great dill pickle taste, just like the pickle was right out of the jar.

The third bag was the peppered beef jerky. Again the texture was spot on, very moist, and pleasant on the palette. You get the taste of the black pepper that was used, and its not over powering. Then the taste of the brown sugar sets in and it all comes together and makes sense.

The fourth bag of jerky we tried was called michelada, something I have never heard of. We we're excited to try it, being something new to us. Again great texture, easy to chew and break apart. There is a ingredient in this I never heard of call Tajin seasoning, it was a interesting taste. The spice level on this one was getting more intense, nothing over bearing though, due to the picante clamato. After eating the jerky left no strong after taste.

At last, was the habanero flavor jerky. Now we are into the heat, but with the brown sugar in it, made it hot and sweet at the same time. It was intense but nothing that a lover of hot and spicy food would not love. This jerky was also moist, and had just the right bite. Great taste all around.

I would highly recommend Senor beef jerky products. And if your interested you can head over to their Etsy store or find them on facebook. These products are a great gift idea for the beef jerky lover you know. Or even hide them for your self.
