Greenville Honey Review

Attention all honey lovers, I want to introduce you to Greenville Honey Company. Tim Gardner is the owner of the company, and has been in business for the last three years. Today they sent me two of their homemade honey products. The teddy bear is wildflower honey, and the muth jar is tupelo honey.

The honey is produced in Greenville, South Carolina, and is 100 percent raw unfiltered, unheated, unprocessed. It comes straight from the comb, to the bottle, to your table.

The wildflower honey is from the piedmont of South Carolina, where as the tupelo honey is harvested in North Florida/South Georgia area. The tupelo is one of the rarest honey's in the country.

So lets get the tasting started. For dinner I made baked fish and a side of glazed carrots. For the fish I used the wildflowers honey. After taking it out of the oven I drizzled it with the honey, as a glaze. The taste of the honey was so delightful on the palette. The honey spreads very easy with a spoon, The color is light, and the taste is light as well with floral undertones. The honey even had a slight floral scent. The color of raw, unfiltered wildflower honey is darker, in the Light Amber to Amber range. The mixing of nectar and pollen by the bees makes for a robust and complex combination of flavors. It is a great honey for everyday use, I think if you got a recipe that calls for honey I would opt for these honey's.

Next for the carrots, I used the tupelo honey. This also made a great addition to the recipe. This honey is light golden amber in color, with mild floral and a fruity taste. I must say including these to products with dinner tonight, produced no leftovers. I would highly recommend them for many recipes.

Also both honey's are safe to use for diabetics, they will not raise the blood sugar. In fact, the tupelo honey has a high fructose content of this honey allows the body to absorb it more quickly initially but releases energy over a longer period of time than other honeys; it is an ideal sweetener and a more lasting source of energy for athletes. Doctors also often recommend Tupelo honey for some diabetics.
