How to freshen up that laundry room

Spring cleaning, all us women do it. So I wanted to share some laundry room freshening tips with the ladies.

Laundry rooms today can feature side by side washers and dryers, or even stackables. On tip is to have a handy laundry tub can, and place it next to or between the units. Also adding some storage in your laundry room will help with all your cleaning products, towels or other items you keep in the room. Hanging racks not only gives you space but the right shelves can spruce up the room. You can even add some inexpensive cabinets. Finding some used one's is a great idea, I personally love the shabby chic look. Add some paint and new handles and you got a great looking used cabinet. Adding a cabinet can also provide you with a small work area.

Painting the walls with light bright spring color will be inviting to the room. It gives it a nice fresh appeal, clean and attractive. Use colors like whites, creams, and natured inspired.

If you can, add some new floor tiles, or paint to the floor if possible. Adding a small rug in front of the units, will also add appeal. And keep your toes warm when needed. Even adding a back splash behind the units add some drama to the room. I don't have windows in my laundry room, so I faux painted one on the wall behind my units. Added some fake flowers and it looks great.

Also check out your switch plates and lighting. There are some great whimciles ones on the market. The object is to make your laundry room a relaxing place to be,  and a inviting one. The laundry chore no longer has to be boring with a few decorating tips.

Share your tips with me.
