Psychological Abuse

When we think of abuse, we tend to reference it to physical contact. This is a highly common assumption. Psychological abuse is a very common and insidious practice of many men and women. It is a abuse that is harder to recognize, and most often discounted. It has a enormous effect on the victim, that it is happening to.

Sometimes one does not know the signs, they think this is just their partners personality. But if your partner continually uses verbal tactics that make you feel degraded and worthless, this is not a normal personality. When they accuse you of being stupied, or crazy, even unworthy, this is verbal abuse. They do this to keep you off balance.

Staying in a psychological abusive relationship can cause you to start feeling depressed, and have very low self esteem, about yourself. There are even times that you may have suicidal thoughts, and experience anxiety.

Another sign is, your partner controlling everything you do. Wanting to know how you spent money, what your wearing, how your dressing etc.

In the beginning of a relationship you may not have even recognized these signs. Over time they just even become embassing to you, not realizing this is a form of harassment.

Your partner can even instill fear, just by violent threats, or words of gestures. Some of this abuse even turns physcial. It can also turn towards your children.

Take time to examine your relationship, do you feel isolated from your family and friends, or even the world? This is a product of being psychologicaly abused. Your partner can even become abusive towards your family and friends, just to try and keep them from you.

If this is happening to you, only you can stop it. There are now safe places to go. No one has the right to make someone else feel worthless.

School and Violence

Teachers today not only have to teach their lession plans, they have to deal with social problems, that we're uncommon in previous generations.  In schools today violence is a real and present part of what our children have to deal with. Once our children are on school grounds, we depend on those officals to deal with any appearance of violence and to quickly and efficiently defuse it. With the bully's and the violence, a once dynamic place to learn can become a gladiatorial pit.

We want our school officals to be aware of low grade bullying. This today is more than just a case of social development gone very wrong. What others don't realize is, that children suffer from bullying, psycologicaly and physically. When someone in school see's this going on, they should take it upon themself to immedialtey contact a school administrater or notify the child's parent's. Anyone that let's bullying go on, is only letting further destructive events to happen.

There is no real known fact, as to why bullying happens. It can be for a wide range of reasons. From, for no reason at all, to children coming forth with their sexual identity, to racial reasons. But for what ever reason it is, our schools should be a safe place for our children at any grade level. Bullying can start as early as kindergarten, and progress as the level heightens.

In schools, our children should have a safe zone to go to. A classroom that can be their sancturay, until the issue can be resolved. Our schools should let our children know, that no matter what their race, or sexual identity is, or what their physical appearance is, they are safe, and bullying will not be tolerated.

As a parent, this can be our worse nightmare. Knowing something is happening to our child, and we are not there to protect them. It is a sad situation, but we can prepare our children, in the event it could happen to them. It's not the most favorite topic to talk about with your child, but it may help them in the long run. Preparing your child can help them to react in the event of a violent situation, and also save their life.

As the grade levels go up, the chance of violence in the school rise's. Go over and explain various incidents with your child, and what they can do, if anything to escape a violent situation. It's sad, but we must as parents inform our children of what is going on in today's society.

Talk over a plan of action with your child, in a case of school violence. Sad, once again to say, but go over cases, that cover everything from a possible shooting to a harmful gang related incidence.

Teaching them, that just by hiding underneath a desk or table or locking of a door, may not only safe their life, but someone else's. Teach your child at a early age, to know how to use the phone to call 911.

Be aware of your schools, policy on bullying, and their practices in the event of such emergencies, that have to do with violence.

Teach your child to consider other childrens feelings, and emotions.

But most important teach them to be as safe as possible.

DIY White Teeth

What your drinking and eating can effect the whiteness of your teeth. Even the mouthwash you think is good for your teeth, can make them yellow. Also smoking will cause your teeth to color. In addition to all of this, growing older, will naturally cause your teeth to look stained. There is good news though, there are do it yourself remedies to getting a nice bright smile back.

Don't throw that orange peel away, rubbing it against your teeth can help whiten them again. Use the inside of the peel on your teeth, rubbing it for five minutes, than rinse with water. Do this twice a day.

Lemon juice and baking soda, make a great paste to brush with. Acid from the lemon juice and the cleaning properties from the baking soda will not only whiten your teeth, but will help with discolorations from stains. To make the paste take three tablespoons of baking soda and one tablespoon of lemon juice and mix until a paste is formed. You want to brush your teeth for two minutes once a day with this paste.

You can also make a strawberry paste, by mashing two strawberries to a paste form. Strawberries have very potent compounds that can give you white teeth. This paste should be applied for two minutes on a daily basis.

If you can take it, try to gargle with apple cider vinegar. Acid from the vinegar disintegrates discoloration as well as stains. Use one tablespoon of the vinegar and gargle for 30 seconds, spit and rinse. Doing this before bedtime every night is the best time.

Eating crunchy veggies and fruit is another way to combine your food and your saliva to help flush out stain causing microorganisms and particles of food, while neturalizing acids which cause decay. Eat things like carrots, apples and celery.
