Container Edibles

You can get more in your garden containers with edibles. Did you know that edible plants are just as beautiful as ornamental plants. And at the same time do double the duty. Edibles are like having eye candy that is edible and healthy. Try using lettuce or Swiss chard instead of a typical green plant. As a filler you can try using kale.

Swiss Chard and Pot Marigolds and Nasturtium are a great combo. Each are great for spring and early summer. The bright marigold colors are a thrill to the combo. Swiss chard is your filler, and comes in a variety of colors. Nasturtiums also have edible flowers that are peppery, and have a great growth habit that will actually spill over the container sides.

Scarlet Runner Bean and Purple Basil plus Patio Tomatoes are a great warmer weather veggie combo. For a even more dramatic effect and to add height find a trellis that will complement your large container. Then plant your scarlet runner beans near the trellis to start their climb. Letting them trail off the sides is also a great look. Basil and tomatoes grow well together because basil keeps the insects away from the tomatoes. But you must pick a determinate tomato variety for this combo. These are the bushy type tomatoes, do now use vine tomatoes.

Purple Sage and Okra are plants that need to have well drained soil that is on the dry side. Doing this makes them great container buddies.

Every plant in a container will receive the same amount of water and sunlight. Your combo's must be plants that need the same growing conditions.

Okra has pretty white flowers that look almost like hibiscus, that's because they are actually part of the same family. If you live in Florida, these can take those long hot days in summer months. But make sure they have enough water, and do not water again until the soil is dry.

Do you know a great plant combo let me know.

Sunland Peanut Butter Review

Where can I start? How about asking who likes Caramel, or Banana, or even Raspberry? Who likes peanut butter? Well if you like any of these, you are going to love the product's I received today.

From Sunland, I received Caramel Peanut butter Spread, Banana Peanut butter Spread, and lastly Raspberry Peanut butter Spread. Boy did they hit my soft spot. I love nothing better than a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on toast or bagel, and a good hot cup of coffee.

Sunland Inc., has been in business since 1988 by a dedicated group of peanut farmers, in Eastern New Mexico. The Valencia peanut is unique to their area. Customers who have tyred their products have given them the ability to expand around the world.

What are these delicious peanuts? Valencia's are actually legumes, that are closely related to peas and beans, except they grow under ground. They are small, sweeter and have a more intense flavor over all other peanuts. The Valencia peanut is grown primarily in Eastern New Mexico.

The peanut butter spreads could not have come at a better time, "Lunch". And the first one I tyred was the raspberry spread. When you open the jar you get a aroma of pure freshness. This spread was creamy and the smell of peanut butter and raspberries made me even more hungry. Out came the toaster, on went the coffee, and lunch was served. I have to tell you this has got to be one of the best spreads I have ever tasted.

When my daughter gets home I know the first one she will want is the Banana, however my husband will be Carmel all the way.

The company was more than gracious with the products, I received six of each flavor in 16oz jars. I definitely want to share with my friends and family, these are just to good not to. But what I envision is how great these are going to taste in some recipes. Cookies, pancakes, my thoughts are endless.

If you enjoy baking, and cooking as much as my whole family does, you have got to try these great tasting peanut butter spreads. The website has some great recipe ideas that they share. I definitely am going to try some.

Sunland Inc., not only makes peanut butter spreads, they have the Valencia peanuts themselves, and other great products. These all would make a great gift for any occasion.

If you would like to visit their website go to www.sunlandinc.com . The website has a endless amount of information, including videos.

You can order their products online, or find a store near you. However you choose, It is my feeling you will just be glad you ordered them.

Suzannes-Specialties Reveiw

First off I have to say this is the largest quantities of product's I have every received to review. Syrups, honey, sweeteners, mellow cream, and fruit spreads. Wow it was huge. There was no way to try every one of this in one day. So I started with a few, and if the rest taste anything like the one's I have tyred so far, then all I can say is WOW.

The company is Suzanne's-Specialties from my home state of New Jersey, yeahhhhhhhhhhh. OK, Suzanne's Speciality's products are all Certified organic by the New Jersey Department of Agriculture. And I have got to tell you, that you would never know these we're organic. They are great tasting products.

Suzanne's Specialties really know there stuff. The company has been in business for over twenty years. They produce a line of all natural, vegan and other organic sweeteners. Their rice syrup is a alternative to honey and comes in a blend of many fruited flavors. They only use the best of all natural ingredients in all their products. These products are a great alternative to use instead of sweeteners and sugars.

Last night my daughter wanted to try the rice mellow creme. So we decided to make some organic banana splits with the rice mellow creme and some of the fruit spreads. They tasted so yummy.

This morning I made my daughter a breakfast smoothie with some fruit and some of the agave nectar. I don't think I made enough she drank it all.

We all look forward to trying the many products we received and I will have to keep you posted with recipes I will use them in.

The nectar's are so thick and creamy you just want to eat them out of the jar. I must admit before receiving these nectar's, I didn't even know what rice nectar was. But I definitely am a fan now, and will enjoy trying the rest of them.

If you are interested in trying these products they are available at Whole foods, the Vegan Store and several others. Head over to their website and grab some great information, as well as some great recipes. www.suzannes-specialties.com
