DIY Tomatillo Salsa Verde

Everyone knows about salsa, but there is one not to many make that I wanted to share. It's called Tomatillo salsa Verde. It's a green salsa, not your typical red. And it's just as good, with your chips. I want to show you my recipe, that even has a little kick to it.

To start you will need a few ingredients:
  • 4-6 Tomatillos
  • 2 Poblanos
  • 2-4 Green Chili Peppers
  • 2-4 Jalapenos
  • 1 Onion
  • 3 Cloves of Garlic
  • Kosher Salt
  • Sugar
  • Pot of Water
Theres not much to making this sauce, you start by peeling your tomatillos. They are almost like your traditional tomatoes, except the wrapping is green. You need good sized ones for this salsa. After you peel them they will feel sticky. So make sure you wash them really good, then throw them into a pot of water.

Add the hot peppers, these do not need to be cut just use them whole. The only part to remove is the stems. Use a hot pepper of your choice on how much of a kick you would like to your salsa. Poblanos have the least heat.

The next step is to peel your onion and cut it into quarters. The rule apply's to your onion also, use what type you want. Just make sure it is a good size. Then you will peel your garlic, this is to your taste liking. You can add three or less, even more if your taste buds like a garlicky flavor.

The final step is to boil your ingredients until they turn a bright or dull green in color. At that point you will drain and put all your ingredients into your blender. Salt your blend, this adds a better flavor to your salsa, and also add a tablespoon of sugar. Blend until you get the thickness you desire and serve.
